Reconnect with yourself, maintain healthy boundaries and discover your inner courage with Jenny's journaling tips

A few years ago, my 19-year-old daughter looked at me, tilted her head, and said, “Your whole vibe has changed from how it used to be.” I smiled, knowing this change was because I had slowed down and connected with my soul through journaling. I had gotten out of my head and into my heart, becoming more at peace.

How did I do this? By writing for only myself.

Sometimes, I stole a few moments of quiet that I found in my day to be still, journal, and listen to my inner being. It helped me heal from past traumas and to forgive myself and others. I’d pause and listen to what my body wanted to tell me and write to purge the emotions I was stuffing inside.

When I was 13 years old, I began writing down my thoughts and poems. It wasn’t a diary of my life—it was a journal. My notebooks and pen carried me through some tough times, as well as my worries. I had difficulty expressing my feelings out loud, and writing became my comfort.

We all know that sometimes, life doesn’t make sense — like my friend completing suicide or my dad having Alzheimer’s — but writing has helped me process the incomprehensible. Journaling helped me come out on the other side, resilient and whole.

I divorced in my 20s, and writing brought light to the relationship—the truth of it. I was able to process things I had denied for years. I couldn’t look away from my blue ink truth.

Not only did I journal to work out struggles, but I also wrote to manifest or bring to life my deepest desires and dreams. For example, I wrote about what I wanted in a partner. It took some time and a lot of frogs to figure out what I was looking for, but I stayed open, not searching but journaling about what I desired in life and in a husband. and—he appeared when I least expected him! Then I married him! Our commitment and everything that has followed is a loving, tangible result of journaling. I’ve manifested many other incredible opportunities and experiences through my journal practices that would surprise you!

I discovered that through writing and journaling, I could come to terms with my life, guide my path, and create a future that I loved.

Through journaling my true thoughts, I connected to my inner wisdom. You can too.

I know women can journal to transform their thinking, beliefs, habits, and future. I know. Because I did.

I know every woman can explore their inner wisdom through writing, just as I did.

Journaling opens your understanding and frees you from limiting stories you tell yourself. By uncovering what is holding you back, you can define the trajectory of your life. Writing is the perfect vehicle to discover and then release what keeps you stuck on the exhausting hamster wheel of your life. By reflecting and listening to the truth in your heart and the inner wisdom in your soul, you can move forward into the story that you define for yourself.

Through journaling you can…

  • improve your mental health

  • experience fuller relationships

  • get grounded, helping you focus

  • understand what you absolutely value most in life

  • stop spinning and trying to please everyone but yourself

  • clear the way so you can begin to plan your days and your future
